I like stories about people being open to each other, and starting to live their life again after a self-imposed seclusion. I like seeing the sparkle of light glittering in their eyes again. Maybe I like African drum-beats. I like people communicating more through gestures then words. That's what I liked about this movie.
Even though I don't see living as an illegal immigrant as being a heinous crime, I don't like the "we did nothing wrong" attitude. I don't relate to it. If you know you did something against the rules, don't whine when you're caught. And I don't like the "thank you for being nice to us" attitude, without trying really hard to make up for it. If some stranger invests some money in my ass, should I just say "thank you" and that's it ? I didn't understand some of the interactions in the story.
So, I don't regret seeing the movie, I did learn a couple of things about African drums, and I liked the acting. I don't think I want to see it again, though.
